What You Will Do :

As Global Power Provider (GPP) Project Developer you will be responsible for the development of Independent Power Project (IPP) style projects (including microgrid and hybrid solutions) aligned to Caterpillar’s product lines in Natural Gas, Diesel, and other fuels & technologies, as required. You should be able to build relationships at both dealer & client level, define and qualify opportunities to bid, work with technical support teams to define site specific ratings & compliance with emissions and other local requirements, review & facilitate technical and commercial responses to RFPs. Required skills will include commercial negotiation, Total Cost of Energy (TcoE) analysis, strategic views around designated markets to develop strong industry and client relationships at all levels required to deliver success.

You Will Specifically Be Accountable For

• Developing a clear understanding of Cat product line and associated strategy development in packaged solutions to the market.
• Understanding the TCoE required by client and to formulating plans with Cat GPP(s) or Dealer(s) to design, track, and deliver an aligned winning strategy for various opportunities.
• Building regional and internal partner relationships with major customers aligned to sales objective achievement.
• Development and execution of market-based strategies for specified regions to drive equipment and aftermarket sales opportunities.
• Establishing high-level relationships with business decision makers, senior leaders, and opportunity champions
• Identifying opportunities for Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment and other expanded products to be offered to GPPs and Dealers.
• Securing commitment of Caterpillar and Dealer resources to assure continued customer satisfaction.
• Coordinating with Dealers and Caterpillar’s district managers to provide adequate coverage to “corporate account” customers.
• Monitoring and engaging in resolution of customer satisfaction issues.
• Identifying future product needs.

Basic Qualifications :

• Proven expertise in development of temporary power solutions and implementation of power generation projects
• Industry specific Independent Power Project (IPP) experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to deal with time & business sensitive issues, mentor and coach, and/or persuade others on new methods of equipment application, new technology and distribution methods
• Background with utility related energy generation projects (sales, rental)

Highly Desirable

• 5+ years rental specific industry experience with top tier global rental companies
• 5 + years of key industry players in the IPP segment (experience with mining companies is a plus)
• Proven ability to perform financial analysis related to developing & implementing electric energy generation projects
• Proven ability to develop relationships with key players in the utility/energy generation industry
