Poste proposé : GROUP DEMAND & INVENTORY MANAGER

PURPOSE :

  • Reporting to VP Supply Chain, the Group Demand & Inventory Manager is responsible for managing the Group master data specialist and handling analysis of Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and improvement plans as part of the Group.
  • He will contribute to the creation of the supply chain strategy and implementation and management of process and procedure to improve performance across sites.

KEYS ACTIVITIES :

General:

  • Develop meaningful business analyses and metrics, provide visibility to forecast accuracy and drive changes accordingly
  • Support management with group inventory risk assessments and mitigation activities
  • Lead and Consolidate Demand through Collaborative Demand Management and ensure Inventory Management is at the levels defined in the budget
  • Guide the demand planning process across the mines to ensure that exceptions in demand are communicated effectively and that the specific materials are managed within the context of the change in demand
  • Ensure that any changes to specification of a material or item are accompanied by the necessary change control due diligence to limit the proliferation of new items or obsolescence
  • Responsible for evaluation and development of staff in order to seek continuous improvement and build a highly functioning team
  • Identify opportunities for cross mine “sharing” of inventory holding
  • Implement and recommends improvements to the master data creation process
  • Responsible for coordinating with IT any ERP upgrades / new releases as pertaining to Supply chain function
  • Responsible for monitoring key KPI and benchmarks as related to Inventory management and overall Supply Chain

 

Staff Development:

  • Provide supervision, guidance, coaching and technical assistance and support to the team.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team to identify areas requiring improvement and implement training and coaching measures to ensure employees receive sufficient training enabling them to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Promote and develop the skills of subordinates through the transfer of technology and skill development through on-the-job training programs.
  • Conduct formal career development discussions with employees and identify development opportunities and programs that assist with defining future career progression possibilities.
  • Encourage and facilitate effective and supportive communication between all team members and related departments

 

Safety Management:

  • Demonstrate personal commitment in regard to safety and environmental and Social Responsibility practices.
  • Ensure every person within team is fit for work.
  • Ensure that agreed procedures, safeguards and controls are applied and used.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with Company standards and procedures
  • Ensure hazard management plans are observed.
  • Keep statutory and internal reporting as required.

Profil recherché pour le poste : GROUP DEMAND & INVENTORY MANAGER

Education:

  • Bachelor degree or 4-5 years’ college degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Business Management or equivalent.

Relevant experience:

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain/ Logistics Management with at least 5 in a Demand/Inventory Management role
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Ability to analyze and propose solutions to complex problems
  • Excellent working and strong knowledge of ERP systems and MRP
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop staff to improve performance and achieve professional goals
  • French will be an advantage
  • Preference for west African experience
  • Experience working in multicultural environment
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and build effective relationships and network
  • Demonstrate strong conceptual skills, and be capable of developing lateral practical solutions
  • Ability to respond to a changing work environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time
  • Reputation for integrity and ethics
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
